Austin Social Scene’s
Annual New Year’s Eve Gala has
earned a reputation as one of the
most unique party experiences in the
nation. For many years, Austin’s
professional singles, couples and
groups have come together to
celebrate the New Year with style
and elegance, long past the stroke
of midnight. |

This year, Austin's only nonstop,
all-night New Year's Eve party will
take place at The DoubleTree Austin
North, 6505 North IH-35 at La
Posada.
For guests with hotel
packages, the evening begins at 7pm
with a complimentary pre-party at
the hotel with an open bar and light
hors d'oeuvres. During the
pre-party, attending guests will be
given early entrance to the Main
Ballroom so they may secure
themselves the best seats in the
house.
The Gala will begin
at 8pm and the party will kick off
immediately with live music and cash
bars conveniently located throughout
the hotel offering premium liquor,
imported and domestic beer,
champagne and fine wines from around
the world. |

Comprised of Robert Wagner (Lead
Vocals), Brian Andrew Lee (LeadVocals, Rhythm
Guitar), John Lockhart (Lead Guitar, Vocals),
Chris Skiles (Drums, Vocals), Danny Swinney
(Bass, Vocals), Suede is rocking the Texas club
and party scene with five decades of radio rock
hits. Veteran musicians with diverse
backgrounds, this group artfully mixes talent
hailing from past studio work with Black Pearl,
Brother Love, Too Smooth, Chamber 36, Brian
Andrew Lee, just to name a few, and performances
in bands, such as 14K, Calico Kings, The Bizness,
Taboo, The Phase, Jukebox Heroes, Kudu Karnival
and Texas Unlimited Band. Suede features
two incredible lead singers—each with his own
unique style—creating an unforgettable,
electrifying sound and experience. The band
continues to gain popularity as it adds to its
fan base by catering to every crowd with a
versatility ranging from strong Rock & Roll
roots to Rhythm & Blues, and Country.
Indeed, some of Suede’s influences are the great
radio rock bands such as Journey, Boston,
Foreigner, Van Halen, Kansas, Toto, Led
Zeppelin, AC/DC, Earth Wind & Fire, et al.

After the Gala ends, the hotel atmosphere really heats up.
This year, all guests of the Gala are invited to
continue the festivities into the wee hours at
any of the legendary after-parties hosted by
guests throughout the hotel.

The cost of The
Doubletree Gala/Hotel Package is
$339 plus tax. As well, two
additional hotels have been added to
the Gala Package. The Orangewood
Suites, 935 La Posada Dr., located
directly across the street behind
Papadeaux’s Restaurant and The
Holiday Inn Midtown located on 6000
Middlefiskville Road next to
Highland Mall. Packages at the
Orangewood Suites are $239.00 plus
tax for a one bedroom suite and
$279.00 plus tax for a two bedroom
suite. The Holiday Inn rooms will
be $199.00 plus tax per room with
either king size beds or two double
beds. The Holiday Inn will be
providing complimentary
transportation to and from the
DoubleTree Hotel through out the
evening. All hotel packages include
your accommodations at the Hotel and
admission for two to the pre-party,
the Gala and the after-parties. Be
sure to book your reservations early
because as usual, the hotels
definitely will sell out. |
